So of course you would like to know why I started this blog...right? Well, I definitely wanted to create a teacher brand. However, I didn't know what I was going to create as my brand or what I was going to market. Then, I thought what are my skills and accomplishments that I pride myself on...leadership.
I didn't become a leader overnight, I mean no one does. We have leadership skills and qualities, but to become a leader, you must develop...your skills and much more.
I'd like to consider myself a natural-born leader. I have always taken on the leadership role and wanting to be in charge. It was my first job in high school that I truly learned that I must first follow and learn to lead. I started at McDonald's as a crew member working the drive-thru window. I took my job seriously! After a few months, I soon became a crew trainer, leading and helping others who came along after me. I honestly enjoyed it. I didn't know it then, but I was learning to be a leader. I was strengthening my leadership skills and didn't even know it. After a few months...years of working on and off at McDonald's due to undergrad, I wanted to do more. I wanted to take charge in something but also help and cultivate experiences with people but at a different level. I saw the shift managers learning more about the business. It was intriguing! Eventually, I was asked to become a shift manager...and my leadership skills took off...
